Bio

Welcome to our lab page! Read more about Dr. G on the Welcome Page. I’m interested in how to foster scientific community and identity in undergraduate students in the classroom. In my free time I love to play with my pets, eat as many cuisines as possible, garden, and try new arts and crafts!

Research Interests

My aim is to create an engaging and inclusive student-centered learning environment to support students' disciplinary literacy in biochemistry and molecular biology. To do so I study how different inclusive and evidence-based teaching practices can not only help students master course content, but enable them to think, read, write, and engage like scientists. I am also interested in examining how authentic biochemistry research experiences can foster student curiosity and a stronger sense of scientific identity.
